So, here are the ways to clean dirty printheads with isopropyl alcohol.

Dry ink can be very persistent and extremely difficult to deal with. This is particularly true in the case of blocked printheads because the space where the ink dries is extremely fragile in nature. Most ink cartridges consists sponge for delivery of ink. This sponge is very fragile and vulnerable to substances. For example, if you’re not careful about the substances in which it comes in contact with, it will dissolve very quickly. So, when ink dries up inside this sponge, it will become a challenge to clear blocked printer head issue.

This sponge can only be cleaned with only one liquid other than water and this liquid is isopropyl alcohol. This alcohol is strong enough to dissolve the ink inside the blocked printheads. Even isopropyl alcohol cannot be used freely; a dropper or syringe is recommended to use it softly and carefully.

You can take either dropper or a syringe to clean printheads. Simply fill your chosen tool with isopropyl alcohol and spray it into the sponge side of the ink cartridge. Make sure to use enough alcohol into the blocked printheads otherwise it won’t be able to dissolve the dried up ink.
